| The Triumph TR3 is a sports car which was produced between 1955 and 1962 by Standard-Triumph. The face lifted variant, unofficially known as the "TR3A", entered production in 1957 and had the full width radiator grille and front disc brakes, just like this car which we are offering for sale on behalf of one of our customers. The TR3 was a fantastic little sportscar in the fifties. Powered by a 1991 ccm 4-cilinder engine, producing almost 100 bhp, it was a great and fast drivers car. A top speed of almost 170 km/u and an acceleration time of 10 seconds from 0 to 100 km/u were very impressive figures for a small sportscar of that era. It was also a regular sight at racetracks and rallies. This example is finished in the beautiful colour combination of Old English White with Red interior. The car was restored 15 years ago by a belgian marque specialist, and it is regularly used since this restoration. This makes that the car is not in concours condition anymore, but it is still a very healthy and quick driving machine. The engine runs very well, gearbox and clutch work very well, brakes and suspension are all fine. The exhaust noise creates quite a buzz when you pass other people on the road, and performance is still impressive for a fifty years old car. A Triumph TR3 is an ideal starter sportscar for everyone who wants to enter the world of classic cars. It combines classic looks with good performance, and it's a great car to participate in both historic racing events or touristic rallies. A testdrive with this wonderful car is the best way to explore the driving pleasure that a well sorted TR3 can offer.
