Early Austin-Healeys are fantastic sportscars. Their 2660 ccm engine was one of the biggest 4-cilinder engines available anywhere at the time. With a compression ratio of 7,5 to 1, it developed 90 bhp at 4000 rpm, and a healthy torque figure of 144 lb at 2000 rpm. For a car of only 950 kg, it performed very well in the fifties.
This car is restored some years ago, and hardly used since. It is a matching nrs car, finished in the correct colour combination of Reno Red over Black, with Red hide interior. It starts on the button, and is a pleasure to drive. The gearbox with overdrive works precisely, and the engine note is a delight to listen at. This is a very pleasant roadster to use on the road, and although it has some minor defects in the paintwork, it looks great and attracts a lot of positive comments from other people on the road
The 100/4 is an iconic british sportscar, and this example has the benefit of being a 1956 car, which makes it eligible for the greatest road race on earth, the Mille Miglia.
These cars are very sought after, and finding an honest example like this one is rare. Now available in our showroom, and ready for an entertaining testdrive !
