| This specific Aston Martin DB2 Vantage with chassis number LML/50/240 is a very well known car by us. Actually when my father started to collect these Aston Martin DB2s, a German friend of him owned this car. That friend bought the car after it participated in the 2000 Mille Miglia. We liked the car very much as it was and still is completely correct/matching. In other words, the Aston still is in the same specification as it was when it left the factory. It still carries its original engine with engine number VB6B/50/1086. The color combination still is also original with a very nice dark grey with red piping interior. All this information can be find on the factory buildsheet from which a copy is in the binder of this Aston Martin. Unfortunately my fathers friend sold the DB2 after some years of ownership to another gentlemen who came via via by us as he had a dream to drive the Mille Miglia. We were able to find him a convertible car to drive his dream but we wanted to trade in his exceptionally nice DB2. The gentlemen took out the engine just before he sold the car to us as he heard a strange noise in the engine. We therefore decide to open the engine and we brought it to 1 of the most well known Aston Martin engine specialists in the Netherlands. Without looking at the costs they have done a complete rebuild and the engine has just been reinstalled. The result of the rebuild is fantastic. The engine runs extremely nice and actually now the car cannot be in a nicer condition. It has been restored on a very high level. One can see this easily from underneath but also when the doors are opened. As we have had approximately 70 DB2s in the meantime, we know how badly a DB2 can be in the areas where people do not look very often if they use a DB2. ?But this car is in all aspects very nice. The chrome receives 10 points, even as the windows which do no show strange scratches and more important the paintwork. The car has been extremely nicely painted during the restoration. The door fittings as well as the bonnet fitting is always a problem with an Aston Martin DB2. These cars have this issue since new and it is nothing to worry about, but this example has very nice fittings overall. Interior wise, the car is also excellent. The interior is not too new but does show a bit of patina. The patina is just right, not too much and not too less. The leather show actually what it has to show, a bit of very careful use. So actually we can write a very long story but the overall condition of this Aston Martin DB2 is extremely nice. This Aston Martin DB2 Vantage is elibible for the greatest road race in the world, the Mille Miglia! The Aston currently has a Dutch registration which we can easily transfer into an export registration if the car is sold abroad. We can be of any help to ship the car everywhere over the world. Short History of the Aston Martin DB2 will be given down here. The Aston Martin DB2 was shown at the public at the New York Motor Show of 1950. This was not the first time that the public could see this very special cars. 3 examples had raced at the grueling 24 Hours of LeMans. Unfortunately 1 of the three cars was involved by a fatal accident. The DB2 has been designed by Frank Freeley and was initially built as a two-seater touring car. It was the first real production car for Aston Martin and the new price of the DB2 was in those years around 1.600,- ponds. The DB1, the car were the DB2 was based on was the first Aston which had the initials of David Brown (the owner at that time) as model name. The production designs were very similar to the vehicles which raced at Le Mans. The cars had the same engine which was a W.O. Bentley designed Lagonda six-cylinder engine which produces standard 115 horsepower. An optional Vantage upgrade increased the engine power to 125 horsepower. During the production period which was from 1950 through 1953 only 441 examples were produced.
