This was a true sports car, with a build quality of the highest order that matched its performance. After the « Pre-A » (a label adopted posthumously), came the 356 A, in 1956, which was dominated by the 1600 S version concerning us here.This car, sold new in Bordeaux, has benefitted from an extensive restoration in recent years, carried out by renowned preparer Laurent Rondoni, and is presented in superb condition. In order to compete in historic motor racing events, the mechanical elements of the car have been thoroughly prepared. As part of this rebuild, various competiton spec parts have been added, a four-point roll cage, stainless steel exhaust, oil cooler, more efficient brakes, limited slip differential, with all work carried out regardless of cost, as confirmed in the impressive restoration file. This Porsche 356 is probably one of the best prepared examples to original specification, and it comes with FIVA papers. Presented in grey, with charming blue « eyebrows » above the headlights, this car has participated in the 2009 Historic Monte Carlo Rally, and the owner tells us that the cherry on the cake is the steering wheel, which comes from the Ferrari 500 Mondial of Louis Rosier, winner of the Le Mans 24 Hours ! In perfect working order and a dream to drive, this Porsche comes with a complete restoration file.
