I hope I've done justice to Zero Motorcycles' 2012 range of electric two–wheelers in this week's newsletter. Not only was I impressed with the bikes themselves, I found the whole technology fascinating.
Now, don't confuse 'fascinating' with total understanding. Or much understanding at all, to be truthful. "He has done no work since deciding to drop Chemistry" is still etched in my memory but, to be fair, motorcycles always mattered a great deal more to me than moles, electrolytic cells and the periodic table.
So, I suppose, a few decades on things have balanced themselves out.
Anyway, if the thought of 'electric this' and 'electric that' worries you, fear not. It is possible to enjoy the occasional day out in the countryside powered by Mr Faraday, rather than Mr Ferrari.

Bonhams' 2012 Aston Martin Sale: Early entry 'barn–find' DB2/4 DHC
