Well, here it is: a full and I would say definitive first–drive test of the all–new, 991–series Porsche 911.
It is a magnificent engineering achievement and matched, I believe, by writing of the highest order. Whether you are a 911 enthusiast or otherwise, do take time to understand exactly what makes the new 911 tick (or roar, growl or howl, dependent on mode).
Elsewhere in this week's edition there's more 911–related material, a terrific feature on one of THE cars to have in period — the BMW Alpina B7 Turbo, a dash back 60 years on a new Royal Enfield Bullet and auction reporting that includes two fabulous Ferraris and an Ewok.
Varied as always; I hope you enjoy it.

BMW Alpina B7 Turbo
Nowadays, 300bhp from a turbocharged engine in an executive saloon is hardly unusual. In 1979, though, the combination was enough to make the BMW Alpina B7 Turbo one of the fastest four–seaters in the world. We've just spent some time in one, an example for sale at German dealer Pure Classics in Bonn.
