Classic Inside 45/2010

EDITORIAL

E=MC2... the square of the hypotenuse equals the sum of the squares of the other two sides... pV=K... Mathematical and scientific conundrums, all - and I haven't even mentioned the "Sir, I'm stuck!" bit.

Yes, it's the last race of a devilishly tight Formula 1 season, and for the leading contenders the arithmetic is close. May the best man win, I say, as it's been one of the most exciting years in recent times.

I hesitate to look back at my predictions of March, although I do seem to remember a confident "Schumacher to win a race" forecast. Ah, well, there's still time...

Moving on, we bring you the first driving report of the latest Bentley Continental GT. John Simister has been behind the wheel of a car whose colour equals that of a burning Arabian sunset - an apt shade for the Oman launch.

Its performance matches the scorching hue, as you'd expect, but it's the yet more luxurious finish, and detail improvements of packaging and efficiency, that impress the most.

Someone up in Crewe has clearly been doing the maths.
