EDITORIAL

A "triumph" is how we describe last weekend's Silverstone Classic. I was there for Friday's practice and was mightily impressed, arriving to the sight of sliding tin-tops and leaving after the FIA Historic Formula Ones had done their stuff.

I'm not normally a fan of single-seaters; however, even a casual observer would agree that these cars were Proper Racing Cars. Each gearchange could be heard, different nuances of engine–note and driving style detected, and — I'm resisting modern comparisons, here — you could actually tell at a glance which car was which.

Well done the organisers, and make sure you have next year's dates in your diary.

And, while you've got the Mont Blanc out, do ink–in the first International Concours D'Elegance to be held in India. The 2008 Cartier 'Travel With Style' Concours promises to be a fascinating display of exotic cars in similarly extravagant surroundings.

Villa in Badia Gran - free from 15th August

Location, amenities and design - these are the main criteria when considering renting a villa. Most villas score in one or two areas, seldom in all three. Our villa Roca is the exception, it simply does not have any weakness in any of these area. 'Top student, star athlete and also good looking?', Oh,how you hated them in school. Well, we hope you will change your mind this time.

Let's start with location: Although quite near to Palma, Badia Gran has kept its authentic and relaxed spirit. Considering that the next beach, Cala Blava, is only a 5 minutes drive away and the island's best beach, Es Trenc, less than 20 minutes, you'll be surprised by how few tourists are in the area. The neighbourhood is characterized by villas and detached residential houses. Restaurants, bars and shops are with-in walking distance.

Villa Roca sits on the highest cliff along this section of coastline, majestically overlooking the bay all the way to Palma. Love boat-like sunsets are impossible to avoid here. You will sense the instant Zen effect of this villa once you've passed the entrance. Here you can be out of this world without being away from it all, parents especially will appreciate this advantage. But let's have a look at amenities and design. You'll find a coherent and clear style dominated by contrasting white decor and complementary dark wood, a feast for sore eyes and not often to be found in Majorca, where roman columns and golden lions are still the rule. Asian elements set a course through the villa underlining the laid back atmosphere of the place. Come and reconnect with yourself or your loved ones.

The villa is built in unsurpassed quality and comes with 4 bedrooms, 3 of which feature en-suite bathrooms, a 3-car underground garage, gym, professional kitchen and several other bonuses. Last but not least a 18x3 infinity pool and 130 square meters of terraces.
