Editorial

In between the odd British summer thunderstorm at Goodwood last weekend, spectators were treated to the customary display of cars rare and fantastic, that are normally gathering dust in museums worldwide, or residing in private collections for occasional forays on the other side of the planet. In addition to the racing machinery there is the modern ‘Supercar Run’, a chance for many enthusiasts to see road-going exotics put through their paces away from the motor show or dealership window.

Debuting this year was the Aston Martin V8 Vantage, as well as a first chance for British Ferrari fans to see the Superamerica in the metal (as well as running up the hill), and proof that the outrageous Maserati Birdcage 75th concept car actually runs.

We’ve been carrying out our own version of the ‘Supercar Run’. It’s slightly longer than a blast up His Lordship’s drive, and your can read the first part below when we put the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti through its paces on a trip from Italy to the French Riviera. You can’t say we don’t work hard for you can you?

Next week we’ll have another featured Ferrari, plus all the usual news and reports.
