| Most unusually this wonderful car had one owner for 40 years until 2005 and has covered a total today of 19.600 miles ONLY It was then bought by a chap who had been a small lad when this car was delivered new, and he remembered watching, longingly, as she would rush past his house and into her own drive He kept in touch with the owner over the years, who had put this car into secure storage in 1975 when she had traveled just 17.000 miles The original owner was reluctant to sell her, even though she wasn't being used and it took him many years to prize her out of his tenure As mentioned above, he managed this in 2005 and immediately had her recomissioned with new belts, hoses, clutch, tyres, plugs, filters, fuel lines cleaned and etc so that she was now ready to be run again Not that he did too much of this, as since 2005 she has gone only a further 2.600 miles She still has her original instruction manual, supply invoice (showing the part exchange of a 3.8 FHC for which £1.000 was allowed!!!), period sales brochure, workshop manual, independant assessment and valuation report together with a Jaguar Drivers Club magazine within which there is an article about the story of this car too She has some period extra dials fitted where you would normally find the glove box, which, by the way, comes with her as well as a spare set of wire wheels (non chromed) and her original radio still graces the centre console The doors and bonnet open and close beautifully - in a way that most restored cars can never really replicate. There is a spare set of rubbers but these have not been fitted for fear of loosing that crisp open & close ability Presented in completely original condition this remarkable E Type must be, if not unique, then one of but a few to be untouched and with extremely low mileage
