1969 Fiat 500 Jolly Chassis No. 2347428 Few cars that Fiat produced had the cuteness appeal as that of the Jolly. Introduced in 1957, the Fiat Jolly, with coachwork by Ghia, had no real practical use except for that of pure enjoyment. Many wealthy playboys, such as Fiat chief Gianni Agnelli, would load these cars on their yachts and use them as beach cruisers when they went on vacation. Weighing in at a mere 1,050 lbs, the Jolly could actually accomplish speeds of 59 mph, while achieving gas mileage of 52 mpg, thus becoming the ideal super-yacht dinghy. The Fiat Jolly offered here is a later European example (Jollys were made into the early 1970s for European delivery) fully refurbished in 2005 in Torino, Italy. Mechanically solid, the motor was rebuilt along with the addition of new brakes, steering and suspension. Finished in Fiat Avorio Antico #234 (Sand) paint over Vimini (Wicker) seating, which is correct for the 1968-1970 Jollys. Today, the wicker has begun to fray in areas on the front seats, but does not deter from the overall presentation of the car. Upon completion, the previous caretaker had the Jolly confirmed by the Registro Storico Fiat (Registry number 1462) as well as by the Carrozzeria Ghia Club Italia.
