| Designed and first produced in 1967 by Aston Martin in house designer William Towns, the car was well received by the motoring press at the time. Described by “Autocar” magazine as being “Modern, Handsome and Italianate as anything from the Turin Coach builders at the time”. The DBS was originally intended to house the new Tadek Marek designed V8 which initially proved to require further development; hence the tried and proven 4.0 litre straight six with twin overhead cams and producing around 325 BHP was used very successfully in the new body. This 1970 registered car has had only 3 owners from new the last of whom has owned it since the early 90’s. During this time he embarked upon a program of restoration which has resulted in what is now a beautiful example with a completely restored chassis including perfect inner and outer sills, outriggers and jacking points. All of the brake lines and discs have been replaced and the engine bay is in near to concours condition. The engine has just been rebuilt by us to 4.2 unleaded specification including new pistons, liners, crankshaft, cams and all new valves and springs. The body has been stripped to bare metal and the paint finish is now superb and the whole of the interior trim which we believe to be original is in extreemly good condition with a nice patina. The transmission is via a 5 speed manual gearbox and the car sits on perfect 15”chrome wire wheels with Avon Radial speed rated tyres. Other upgrades include a new stainless steel exhaust system and a specially manufactured stainless steel 6 branch exhaust manifold. The car which is finished in Original Azzuro blue has contrasting dark blue hide interior with dark blue Wilton carpets is now almost ready for sale and can be viewed by appointment.
