Less than 1,400 examples of the CSL were produced in the latter half of 2004 and this is one of a limited number of UK supplied right hand drive examples. It is also one of the finest, finished in black with optional air conditioning, it is in exceptional original condition having covered only 9,500 miles from new.
The car was registered when new by BMW, the PDI was carried out by their main Thorne Distribution Centre on the 9th November 2004, the running in check was completed at 580 miles on the 22nd November. Shortly after this the car was purchased by the Dealer Principal of a main BMW dealership, who retained it until 2007 - covering less than 4,000 miles in this period.
The second owner was based in Northern Ireland, he had the number plate C70 CSL allocated to the car. He retained the car for the next three years until 2010, the mileage increasing during this time to just 7,000 miles. It was clearly his pride and joy and was only used in dry conditions. It was serviced by County Garage, the local BMW dealer in April 2007 at 4,130 miles and in February 2010 at 6,358 miles.
In February 2010 the car returned to these shores becoming part of a small but perfect private collection. This car was chosen after an exhaustive search to find the best example irrespective of price. Since purchase the mileage has increased to 9,500 miles, the car once again only being used in good conditions. BMW dealer Listers of Boston have serviced the car, an oil service being completed in April 2011 at 7,255 miles and an Inspection One service being completed in October 2011 at 7,636 miles.
An excellent example of a model that is fast becoming recognised as rather special and very collectible. Other than for some minor stone chips this CSL really is indistinguishable from new, this freshness extends to the driving experience, it does not take long to understand why the car is so loved by the motoring press and enthusiastic drivers alike. The car comes with all books, tools, keys and a copy of the original UK sales brochure.
