Equipped with the options of full Mushroom leather, rear seat and headlamp wash/wipe this completely original SL is in fantastic as new condition having covered only 7,000 dry miles with four owners from new.
The car was supplied by Nottingham Mercedes dealer, B & K Thomas, to the first owner, a Mr David Smith on the 15th August 1989 having had its pre delivery inspection the day before. He retained the car until May 1993 covering only 1,900 miles during this period, the supplying dealer servicing the car at 834 miles, in November 1990.
B & K Thomas repurchased the car from Mr Smith in May 1993 and sold it very quickly to a Dr Peter Longson after a full service. The PDi sheet and bill of sale indicates that Mr Longson took delivery on the 28th May 1993. He retained the car until 2004 by which time the car had covered 6,651 miles. We can ascertain this very precisely as Dr Longson kept a handwritten log of each trip and every mile he covered in the SL. During this time the car was serviced as per schedule, by Patrick, the Mercedes dealer in Solihull, services being completed in 1994,96,97 and 2000.
In March 2004 Mercedes specialist Silver Arrows in Putney sold the car to a Mr Darius Bana who lived near Hyde Park in London. He kept the car until February 2006 , taking the mileage from 6,651 miles to 7,148 miles, again it was regularly maintained.
In February 2006 the car was purchased from specialist Autobahn for the collection, at this point it was transported to Ireland and placed in the rather smart heated garage along with the other SL models we are offering.
The car remains in fantastic unmarked condition, a real testament to the fastidious way in which each owner has looked after it. The mileage is still only 7,700 miles and it comes with all original books including original stamped service book in the correct wallet, all tools and a history file to include all MoT certificates and many service invoices.
