This 300 SE Cabriolet left the Stuttgart Mercedes-Benz plant in 1963. Its first owner was Margaret Rockefeller Strong de Larraín, a granddaughter of oil magnate and philanthropist John D. Rockefeller. It was delivered to her home on the Cote d’Azur town, Cannes. An “A” celebrity in her own right, the 300 SE surely provided plenty of luxury and comfort as she cruised along the boulevards of the French Riviera. The trendy 300 SE stayed in Southern France for some years until she relocated to Palm Beach, Florida. The 300 SE has since remained there in the care of two Floridian owners until recently.
Benefitting from very limited ownership, this 300 SE offers great comfort and style to its next caretaker. Powered by the all-alloy fuel- injected straight-six engine, essentially carried over from the epic 300 SL Roadster, it has enough torque and power on tap to keep up with modern traffic. A Becker radio and a period Kühlmeister air-conditioning system add to the driving pleasure of this 300 SE. The gorgeous wood-covered dash is complemented by the iconic Mercedes-Benz ivory steering wheel.
This exceptional 300 SE Cabriolet is in incredible condition throughout and ready for immediate use. It offers elegance and engineering and remains, a superb four-seater convertible that the whole family can enjoy.
