| Jaguar made many substantial changes in the second series of XKE including the larger 4.2 liter engine, fully synchromesh 4-speed transmission, larger parking lights and raised headlights and a full front bumper to meet US requirements. Even with US emission controls the XK six still delivered 246 horsepower and 263 lb-ft torque. This 1970 XKE Roadster is a pretty car in dark blue with red leather upholstery, a black cloth top boot, chrome wire wheels and blackwall tires. It is a good running car that has never had, nor needed, a full restoration. The paint has been done. The engine bay is neat and orderly. The leather interior is older but sound and presentable with an attractive patina. A good running, driving car, it is an ideal acquisition for the coming touring season and weekend road trips.
