| Actually this specific example of the Aston Martin DB2 has a nice Aston Martin related history. It can be said that this specific example has helped Aston Martin to make the DB2 succesful as it was it was 1 of the 2 cars which were used on the stand of Aston Martin at the 1952 Earls Court Motorshow. Afterwards, the Aston Martin has also been owned by the very well known pre war Aston Martin specialist Ecurie Bertelli. Ecurie Bertelli did quite a lot on the car and over the years, the car has received the needed attention. The Aston has had approximately 6 owners since it was newly delivered at the 23rd of February 1952. Luckely the former owners have kept the originality of this Earls Court Motorshow Aston in mind as the car still is in its original specification. The Aston still has its original red body and its black interior which is shown on a copy of the buildsheet which is coming with the car. Just after the Earls Court Motorshow, it was possible to purchase the Aston Martin DB2 with a more powerfull engine, the so-called Vantage engine. Therefore, the first owner decided to bring the car back to the factory after 2 months to convert the car to Vantage specification. This information can also be found on the factory buildsheet. Actually the difference between a Vantage spec example and a ?normal? example is not so impressive nowadays. This might come because the cars are driving almost the same after the engine rebuilds of this time. Nevertheless is the optional Vantage specification from the factory always nice as it is a well known trigger which is still used by Aston Martin nowadays. Think of the Aston Martin V8 Vantage. The Aston is in a nice condition and it can be seen that it has been used over the years. It has a very nice patina and does not show an over restored example. The exterior does not show any working paint or working aluminium which is often seen down the doors of the DB2. It absolutely does not need any investment, just turn the key and drive it. Engine wise the car runs extremely well. It is very fast for a DB2 and sound gorgeous. If one opens the bonnet one can easily see that the car has had attention, everything looks very nice and proper. The interior looks fantastic and is very nicely black with nice wood on the dashboard. Actually this is a very nice DB2 which is driving fantastic. It is car which can be used for a sunday trip but can be subscribed for the greatest road race, The Mille Miglia as well. The lines of the DB2 are fantastic so you can even keep it in the garage and just look at it. Just imagine then how it was possible in those years to make these fabulous lines on a car.
