| This relatively early matching numbers example, carrying Pininfarina job no. 39867, is recorded in the 250 GTE Register as being in the hands of its last owner, Walter Stock of Connecticut, since at least 1996. He had purchased the car from Jack Montgomery of Wyoming some time prior to that. It is believed that the car was originally from California. Mr. Stock used the car on a regular basis and as a result it performs extremely well. Cosmetically the car is in fine but not concours order, with nice chrome and an attractive, largely original interior. The under-bonnet area is particularly attractive having been detailed whilst the cylinder heads were recently removed for an overhaul, including the fitting of new valve guide oil seals. This long under-rated model is now starting to get the recognition it deserves as an elegant GT car and true classic front-engined V12 Ferrari in its own right rather than a donor for yet another SWB / GTO / Cal Spider replica.
