The unofficial Daytona name was given by the world press in recognition of the firms 1-2-3 victory at 1967s Daytona race. Designed by Pininfarina and bodied by Scaglietti, only 121 Spiders were produced by Ferrari and of this number, only 7 in . This example presented in Rosso Corsa with Tan leather is a converted coupe which has been owned by 1980 Formula 1 World Champion Alan Jones. The conversion work was extensive and extremely well finished. The 365 GTB/4 was launched at the Paris Salon, and received enormous praise, particularly in the United States. With a top speed of over 170mph, the Daytona beat every other manufacturer, to the fastest production car of its day.
