| Stratton Motor Company are proud to present a matching number genuine UK supplied RHD 911 2.2 T. The 911T (Touring) was introduced in a 2.2 litre form in 1969 and was built for just two years. Such was the popularity of the vehicle that in excess of 42000 were sold before production ceased in 1971. Sadly, only a small fraction of that number has survived in this condition and with this level of originality. This car has been in dry storage for the last 10 years and in April 2011 the re-commissioning work was commenced. The entire body was stripped of glass, chrome, rubbers and bumpers prior to re paint. When re-assembled a complete set of new rubbers were fitted along with new windscreen and rear screen chrome surrounds. The mechanicals were thoroughly inspected with 4 new brake callipers, new brake master cylinder and the renewal of brake fluid. New front shock absorbers, hand brake cables, gear change linkage bushes and gear lever bushes were also fitted. In addition to the above the Weber IDA carburettors were completely stripped down, ultrasound cleaned and re built using new jets, emulsion tubes and gaskets. The fuel tank was removed from the car, pressure cleaned and the inside coated to prevent corrosion and replaced with a new sealing gasket, fuel lines and clips. A complete set of new tyres were fitted to the original Fuchs alloys along with a correct set of aluminium wheel nuts. The front suspension was fitted with new shock absorber inserts and the entire car has had the suspension geometry laser aligned to give an accurate and correct feel to the driving experience. The engine and gearbox were rebuilt (by John Brewster –Autocaven, Ipswich) prior to storage and has only covered approximately 3,000 miles. The engine has been fully serviced during re-commissioning along with the gearbox which has had its oil changed. All the electrics have been professionally checked including the fitting of a new horn and replacement of all old fuses with new and rectification of faulty circuits. The car is fitted with a Stainless Steel exhaust system and heat exchangers.
