| A really remarkable example of one of the prettiest Continental designs here Originally built and supplied for the use of the Chairman of the Board of Rolls-Royce (remember in those days Rolls-Royce was both Aero Engines and Motor Cars too before their split in 1971) and therefore was one of the earliest made and specified to the hilt He would, naturally, have been expected to parade around in this magnificent statement and impress all of his Captain of Industry friends, thus encouraging them to specify their own Bentley or Rolls-Royce too He enjoyed her so much that even after he retired he kept her for his personal use, only relinquishing ownership in 1970 at around 30.000 miles, when she was taken on by her second owner, a lady, who kept her until 1973 The third owner took her on, with not many more miles, as this was his ideal Continental, being the Jason King model (of course, we all know he also had a regal red JY Continental at times too) Whilst in his ownership she continued to be used sparingly, although in 1990 when 30 years old and at about 50.000 miles by then, he decided to undertake a refurbishment of the paintwork and interior, at respected specialists Healey Bros There are many period photo's of this work on file and the colour combination chosen of Brewster Green paintwork and House of Commons Green leather interior is quite stunning This enabled him to further enjoy her until the Autumn of 2005 (over 30 years tenure) when she passed into the current owners (only the fourth owner) collection at 59.000 miles We sourced her on his behalf and have maintained her ever since There are many other classic cars in his collection and hence this example has since benefited from regular, cost no object, maintenance, whilst covering a very nominal mileage in his ownership As mentioned above she was specified to the order of the then Chairman of the Company and hence she has a wonderful list of options to include air conditioning, sundym glass, radio with electric operation of the aerial and electric windows, the passengers window operation by the driver via switches on the fascia - a very nice and unusual touch The original period radio still sits within the fascia although now we have fitted a modern stereo inside the glovebox which is operated by remote control - the speakers have been uprated accordingly, although visually you'd not notice She is presented in 'tip top' condition both inside, outside and underside too, whilst great expense has been lavished ensuring that she is 'just so' A wonderful opportunity to buy the best we have come across of this type of Continental
