| An exceptional E Type that has a full history and only four owners from new. Always well maintained, the car was extensively refurbished several years ago to a very high standard resulting in what must be one of the finest examples of its type. The car was first registered to dealers Kays of Derby Ltd on the 3rd March 1966, the number plate issued JRC 185D remains with the car today. Shortly after Kay's sold the car on the 18th March to Osmund Stuart Scott. Mr Scott obviously rather liked the E Type as he retained it for the next nineteen years. During this time he looked after it extremely carefully, the original service book and second extension book, both in the history file indicate that the car was serviced very regularly, mainly by Kays, the supplying dealer. The Scott family finally sold the car on the 18th April 1985 to Mr Michael Otton. Mr Otton proved to be another enthusiastic and careful owner, the car continued to be carefully used and maintained to a very high standard, the above mentioned service books and numerous detailed invoices indicate that the car was regularly checked over and serviced, with all componentry being overhauled as required. Photographs on file from this period show the car to be in very good order throughout. The Jaguar remained with the Ottons until 2008 when it was purchased on the 3rd March by Mr Keith Slade. A refurbishment programme then began resulting in the super car we have today. The body was completely stripped and refinished, a large number of photographs show how good and original the body was following paint removal, it also shows the high standard of work completed. All mechanical componentry was overhauled or replaced, this work included a full engine rebuild. All invoices are on file which detail the work completed. A carefully considered series of upgrades were introduced, much thought went in to this - the aim being to enhance the original E Type driving experience and not to change the nature of the car. Work included: Original engine was lightened and balanced Five speed Broad Sport gearbox Adjustable Koni shock absorbers Adjustable Rob Beere anti roll bar High torque starter motor Modern electric cooling fan Six branch stainless exhaust 6 1/2 stainless wire wheels Quick turn steering rack Headlamp conversion to H4 Halogen bulbs Electronic ignition system Full flow high capacity radiator Several years on the car remains in absolutely superb condition with fantastic detail, the panel fit so hard to get right is spot on, the under bonnet and under car finishes are to a very high standard. The E Type drives extremely well with a fluency and tightness of feel that is very hard to achieve in a restoration. This super car comes with a substantial history file, this includes the original handbooks and above mentioned original service books. The original buff logbook is present along with subsequently issued registration documents, current and previous MOT certificates, extensive invoicing that covers all work completed since the 1970's, detailed resume of recent restoration along with photographs and detailed invoicing.
