Porsche brought a handful of 924 Carrera GTs to compete in the GTP class in the 1980 Le Mans 24 hour race, with the best car finishing sixth overall. Further development of the Carrera GT
platform led to even more homologation specials, culminating in 1981 with the wild 924 Carrera GTR. Ferociously quick, the 924 Carrera GTR was the strongest and fastest—barring only the GTR
Le Mans and GTP— of Porsche’s first-generation water-cooled racing cars.

The history of #720009
This Porsche 924 GTR was delivered new to Vasek Pollak for the 1981 IMSA racing season, but was used only as a spare car and was never raced. It was sold to Mr. Matsuda to be shown in the Matsuda collection in Japan, well documented in the museum catalog. 3rd owner was Mr. Hunsinger who brought it back to the USA. 2016 the car was brought back to Germany and is since 2019 in our possession.
2022 Mücke Motorsport took care of the Porsche 924 to make it race ready again for Le Mans Classic 2022.
The Porsche 924 GTR was completly restored ,the engine was completly rebuild, the gearbox was rebuild , new seat , new fuel cell, turbo revised, exhaust rebuild, new ignition, new fuel pumps, shock absorbers rebuild, new set of rims and so on. This is all well documented by fotos , videos and invoices.

is very reliable and fast and has finished every race it participated in, a remarkable achievement. Never crashed and always remained in original specification..
