Description

Chassis No. 111.026.12.003047

Arguably amongst some of the most well-built automobiles of their era, the W111 Mercedes-Benz 280 SE 3.5 coupe was not only at the pinnacle of their model line but nearly every competitor as well.

This particular 3.5 Coupe was delivered new to an entrepreneur in Stockholm, Sweden, as a well-equipped car with a mechanical sunroof, floor-shifted automatic transmission, and heat-insulating glass. This example saw limited usage during his ownership, as attested to by the accompanying service records. It was then sold to a well-known Swedish singer, who was also well-known for his car collection. The next owner of this car brought the coupe to their collection in England, where it was treated to a high-quality restoration. The original bodywork was refinished in its original shade of Sand Beige Metallic and presents remarkably well today, as does the brightwork. A true highlight of this example is the perfectly preserved original interior in Cognac (250) two-tone. The original engine and transmission are still powering this car as well.

With only 38,000 km displayed on the odometer, which is believed to be true given the early service history and the remarkably well-preserved Cognac leather interior, this is a wonderful example of a 280 SE 3.5 Coupe, rarely seen in such fine condition.
