| This Jaguar XK 140 Fixed Head Coupe SE has just arrived back to us from Luxembourg where we sold it to the former owner in 2007. The Jaguar was finished in 2007 from an impressive nut and bolt restoration. The restoration was done in the Netherlands by a well known Jaguar specialist named Theo Koelman. During the restoration, the complete car has been taken apart. Every nut and every built has passed hands which is relatively easy to see if one takes a careful look at the car. It is absolutely amazing how the chrome, the paintwork and the interior of this example is looking. It is absolutely excellent. The wooden interior is one of the nicest we have ever seen. But important for us if we buy a car, is that the car is not over restored. It must be possible to drive the car. A trailer queen is not the type of car where we are normally looking for. After the restoration, the Jaguar has driven only 6050 kilometers. This was only done on nice weather days. The former owner is a gentlemen who takes a lot of care for his collection. Every details needs to be as perfect as possible and this is something you can see on this particular example. Amongst the condition of this car, it is an unbelievable nice car to look at. The lining of the roof to the lower body is excellent. It is actually unbelievable that these cars are still so cheap. Don’t understand us wrong, it is a lot of money but it really is art. The linings are almost the same as from a Bugatti which are priced over € 500.000,- History of the Jaguar XK 140: The Jaguar XK 140 was introduced at the 1954 Earls Court Motor Show in London. Comparing with it’s former model, the 120 there were a considerable number of changes, some of which had undoubtedly inspired by customer feedback from the American market. Although our customers, the best change is the increased legroom. The XK140 was even as the XK120 directly available as Fixed Head (closed Coupe), Roadster (2 seater convertible) and the Drophead Coupe (4 seater convertible). All Jaguar XK 140’s were equipped with 3.442cc 6 cylinder engines which produced standard 190 horsepower. An extra option was the so-called C-Type cylinder head which increased the engine power with 20 horsepower to a total of 210 horsepower.
