| 1991 Mercedes-Benz 500 SL Right Hand Drive: UK supplied Only 14,462 miles from new with full M-B Service History First built in 1952 as a racing car, introduced as a series production car in 1954, the Mercedes 300 SL was already a living legend when it ceased production in 1957. With its iconic shape and gullwing doors, it set new standards for motoring in the 50’s and 60’s. In 1989, Mercedes-Benz continued this legendary sports car tradition with the introduction of the R129 model SL. Based on a shortened chassis from the W124 saloon; it featured multi-link suspension and a host of technological advancements as standard, including electric roof, windows and mirrors. Also fitted as standard was a state of the art automatic roll-over bar, which allowed for a clean silhouette when the roof was retracted, but complete protection for rear passengers in the event of a collision! The R107 was offered with three power plants, owners could choose from the 300 SL, the 300-24 SL and the range topping 500 SL, a 5 litre V8 engine with 4 valves per cylinder that developed 322 BHP at 5500 RPM.
