The Mercedes-Benz 600 marked the ascendancy of the Stuttgart marque back to the pinnacle of luxury, performance and prestige just twenty years after the end of World War II. The 600 had everything that an increasingly wealthy upper class could want, including performance with 300 horsepower and 434 lb-ft torque from the 6.3 liter overhead camshaft fuel injected light alloy V-8 engine. Fully independent suspension rode on load-compensating air springs. There were disc brakes all around, central door locks, power steering and two separate climate control systems. In 1967 only 138 of the 600 SWB like this one were built. It is a two owners car who spent its entire life in California. The dark blue paint has been redone about three years ago . The white leather interior and wood are original and in great condition and it has a Becker Grand Prix AM-FM radio and an original sunroof. The engine and chassis, are matching. and the engine has never been neglected. The air suspension so often subject to problems has been fixed and is in very good operating condition. The A/C has been repaired. The body is very straight and the doors, hood and trunk operate the quality who made Mercedes Benz so famous.
