| This particular example with chassis number AEX568 was supplied new to Canada. It left the works in June 1956 as the first of two cars sent to Toronto. The dealer Scabaro Beach registerd the Aceca on August 21 in 1956. The first owner sold the AC in 1983 to the second owner Mr. Harry Warren in Dallas. He keept the car until 1988 before entering to the third owner Nigel Dawes in England. Nigel was a well known restorer of exlusive classic cars. This Aceca was past over after the body off restauration to the auction house Coys. They sold it at the 5 th of December to the new owner Bjorn Berlin in Stockholm Sweden. 7 Years later Mr. Berlin sold it to the current owner who keept the car now since 15 years. The AC Aceca is a scarce automobile, only 155 cars were built of which 69 Left Hand Drive models! LHD Aceca's are seldom offered for sale. Although us as well as many period magazines, the AC is one of or probably the best driving sports car of the 50’s. The handling as well as the power is fantastic. One can drive relaxed with an AC but it can be used very well on race tracks as well. It isn’t strange that Cobra has used the AC as a base. It is just a fantastic race car as well. In comparison with the Aston Martin DB2’s and Jaguar XK 120, the AC Ace was in the time prized by many magazines as the perfect car to both race and used as a touring car. The AC Ace made its debute in 1953 at the London Motor Show and production began in 1954 and continued through 1963. The AC consisted of a light-weight tubular chassis with steel boxes in the front and rear which supported a transverse leaf and lower wishbone independent suspension system. The chassis was very well designed and one looked very well to the place of the engine to give the car an optimal balance. If you look to the front of the car, you might have recognized the grille of the Ferrari 166. This because the Ferrari 16MM Barchetta which was made by Touring of Milan was the inspiration car for the designers of the AC Ace. During the first year of production, there were fewer than 60 examples produced. These were all Aces - convertibles. The Aceca, a hard top variant was debuted in 1954. Due to the vehicles light weight, optimal weight distribution, responsive engine and handling, and stylish appearance, it attracted much attention. This specific example is a very impressive car. The looks of the car are excellent because of the fantastic color combination. But more unique is the condition of the car. It is not over-restored but has a nice patina. With patina we do not mean rust or whatsoever but it is not a too shiny example. We would say a very nice driver. Please take the time to look for some seconds to the different pictures. If you follow the lining and then specifically from the backside of the car, then you see how nicely these cars are made. It is almost unbelievable that it was possible to produce these cars with these linings in 1956. A total of 151 ACECA’s have been made and, due to its rarity, in recent times has become a true "blue chip" investment, based also on a surprising competition background.
