| We would not normally contemplate buying into stock an early Spirit. This is because the vast majority have not been looked after at all in their lives, due to their comparatively low market value. This example caught us completely by surprise. It goes against the tide in the fact that is without doubt "off the scale", in condition compared to most of its peers. Not only a 2 owner very low mileage car (35,000 from new), but also with an upkeep to match, it is also striking with its unusual "Coral" over "Redwood", factory colour scheme, with beige leather piped red. This is enhanced by a special-order matching beige knee roll, with red leather dash top. A lovely car to behold, complete (of course ) with full complement of original pristine books and tools. It is still possible to contemplate that when this car was made, it was a contender for "Best car in the World". That is because this car has an excellence of driving that so many examples now do not. Everything works as it should (including ice cold air conditioning when the occasion demands), and driving it is a wholly pleasurable experience.
