"The 'UNIversal-MOtor-Gerät', or better known to everyone as the Unimog, is a vehicle that over the years has transcended its status as a work vehicle and become a collector's item. Conceived by Alber Friedrich and Heinrich Rößler immediately after the Second World War, the Unimog was intended to be a universal vehicle, capable of working in an infinite number of operating contexts. Production began in 1948 at the Boeringher factory in Göppingen, Germany. The 'flexible' chassis design was a novel feature of the Unimog and was indeed part of the vehicle dynamic. In 1951, Mercedes Benz took over the project and began production of this extraordinary vehicle, which has seen the most diverse uses ever since. The first version, called the 70200, was unfortunately too underpowered for its intended uses. Therefore Daimler Benz introduced the more powerful 411 version with numerous improvements, such as a longer wheelbase, a less spartan cab and engines capable of 33.5 horsepower.

This 1963 Unimog 411 is an original for the Italian market and is equipped with numerous options, making it one of the most interesting examples on the market today. Chassis 411118/025844 is equipped with an air brake system for both the vehicle and the trailer, 3 hydraulic power take-offs (rear, front and side with pulley), the first 2 reduced gears, an extended intake nozzle, 4x4 drive, and a lockable differential. It is also equipped with the original front PTO distributor unit in the front bonnet and still has all its original plates. This example is powered by a 1777cc 4-cylinder diesel powered by a Bosch inline pump.

It lends itself either as a perfect workhorse or as an excellent base for a top-class restoration for collectors. It has signs of use, and is fitted with non-original auxiliary headlights. It is offered with 4 original rims and tyres for the model and is free of structural rubbish, still retains its original tarpaulin as well as original box with period wood.

Rare to find, this Unimog is a vehicle for enthusiasts who know how to appreciate the value of a piece of truck history.
