Beschreibung
When the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti debuted in 2004, it was the long-awaited successor to the 456 GT and the first 2+2 Ferrari to offer truly comfortable accommodations for four. Designed for a combination of performance and luxury, the 612’s wheelbase grew 14" from the 456, yet, thanks to an all-aluminum space frame, it weighed significantly less than the outgoing car. When combined with the 5.7-liter V-12 shared with the 575M Superamerica, the 612 was capable of nearly 200 mph. Ferrari offered both a six-speed manual and six-speed F1A paddle-shift gearbox, and over 90% of 612s were optioned with the F1A gearbox.
This stunning example is finished in Azzuro California (California Blue) over a Blu Scuro (Dark Blue) leather interior, and it is one of only 199 examples built with a six-speed manual. Sold new at Ferrari of Washington, the 612 has been sparingly used, showing just 6,308 miles at the time of cataloguing. In 2020, this 612’s fastidious current owner treated it to nearly $15,000 in service work at The Collection-Ferrari of Miami and it has since remained a highlight of his fine modern sports car stable. The Ferrari is offered with its original manuals, tools, air pump, flashlight, factory cover, and service records.
When, as here, paired with a manual gearbox, the 612 Scaglietti is one of the rarest Ferraris of the modern era, representing a sublime combination of classic charm and modern performance.
