Derived from the Challenge racecar, the Stradale was the ultimate roadgoing incarnation of the Ferrari 360. The model gained 25 brake horsepower over the standard Modena, was 110 kilograms lighter, and fewer than 1,300 were produced.

It was this model that properly set the template for Ferrari developing track-focused special editions of its mid-engined V-8 supercars. The Stradale was fitted with carbon ceramic brakes, featured wider tyres than the regular 360, sat 15 millimetres lower, and gained a faster-changing “F1” paddle-shift gearbox plus launch control system.

This left-hand-drive example is finished in Argento Nürburgring over black leather seats, has black brake callipers, and wheel caps that match the silver wheel colour—rather than the usual yellow centres. It is believed to be among the first 10 Stradales built.

It was delivered new to Jean Todt, the former general manager of the Ferrari Formula 1 team, who later served three terms as president of the FIA motorsport governing body. As per all Stradales, a plate mounted on the passenger side celebrates a run of consecutive F1 Constructors’ championship victories for Ferrari that started in 1999, all of which came under Mr Todt’s leadership. Given the high profile of its first owner, a custom plaque reflects that it was made especially for Mr Todt.

He took delivery of this car in June of 2003 before selling it to the next owner in Milan two years later. After 18 months, it moved to another Italian owner, who kept it for eight years. It was then sold to Denmark before being bought at auction by its current custodian in June 2018, at which point it was registered in the UK for the first time. The car has driven only 36,046 kilometres at the time of cataloguing and benefits from an annual service completed in June 2023 by DK Engineering, who also store the 360 CS. This complements a history of main dealer or Ferrari specialist servicing (invoices available to view on file). It passed its MoT at the first time of asking in March earlier this year. Further to its detailed history file, the car is offered for sale with its Ferrari folio, toolkit, and tyre inflator.

Any 360 Challenge Stradale is revered as a spectacular driver’s car. This particular example’s early build slot and intimately Ferrari-linked first owner make it truly stand out as a worthy addition to any collection.
