- 5 year nut & bolt restoration to Mark 2 Specification by Aston Martin Works Service - Restoration invoices totalling £480,000! - Over 1,000 restoration photographs on file - Built to 4.2 Litre with Triple Webers, Unleaded - Dyno 300 BHP - Enlarged fuel tank, Tropical climate cooling, - EZ Power Steering - Satellite navigation with Reverse Camera to name a few of the enhancements made during restoration - Balance of the current Aston Martin warranty will run over to its next lucky owner Exquisitely presented in the most iconic post war colour combination for the marque, Metallic Silver Birch with Dark Blue VM3282 Connolly hide, matching Wilton carpets CPW 918 bound in dark Blue leather. Black weaved seatbelts classic chrome fittings with the correct Britax decals applied - incredible detail. 15-inch 72 spoke chrome wire wheels with three eared spinners, sittings on Pirelli Cinturato tyres. Chassis number 2958 rolled off the factory line on 10th February 1967, registered the following day and issued with the Staffordshire registration MJW 484E. This number still applies to the car today. Supplied by Cyril Williams LTD, Wolverhampton and built to order for a Mr Hunt. The car was built to Vantage spec and fitted with heated rear window, chrome wire wheels and Motorola radio with electric aerial. The car stayed in Mr Hunts ownership for the next 6 years before two further owners were added, the third owner was a Mr Stanley who acquired the car June 1975 and took it to Scotland where it was driven into his garage to lay dormant for the next 40 years. To find a car is this state makes it the ultimate barn find project. It was sourced and supplied by Aston Martin Works Services and taken back to where it all started. Restorations works commenced in 2015 and over the course the next 5 years a brand new DB6 rolled off that production line for second time. Restoration works have been fully documented with over 1000 photographs on file, the project covered the following: The intention of this restoration was to fully restore DB6/2968/R to as new condition. Additionally we have incorporated a number of improvements to the car to enhance its usability, reliability and importantly safety under the conditions that it is likely to encounter when being used on today's roads. Exterior body and panel work - Treat and prepare all re-worked panels in preparation for repatriation with chassis - Handcraft required body panels/sections as required to original specifications (Made in the traditional methods using the correct tooling) - Remove alloy body sections, chemically strip paint to assess condition - Take off removable panels, bonnet, boot lid and doors - Remove all exterior brightwork, and glass from vehicle Chassis - Apply waxoyl to all chassis cavities - Seam seal all panel joins, then apply anti-chip coating to engine bay and underside of vehicle - Sandblast chassis a final time before being powder-coated for maximum corrosion protection - Re-work complete chassis and framework re-fabricating and replacing any areas as necessary - Sandblast chassis to allow complete assessment of corrosion levels, damage and previous repairs Body - Paint the complete exterior of the refitted body in Silver Birch paint colour using the latest technology paint process for durability - De-grease and DA sand complete panel work - Carry out final panel work inspection - Apply one coat of each primer followed by one coat of normal primer - Sand down primer to smooth finish before applying final primer coat - Carry out pre-fit of vehicle to ensure correct fitment and panel gaps Interior and trim - Re-trim boot environment to specification - Re-trim dashtop and paint dash to suit - Make up new carpets to required specification - Polish all brightwork - Make new door shuts and sill finishers - Re-trim complete interior with specified leather and materials - Make and replace all seat and panel foams - Overhaul all seat frames and structures, powder
